Free vs Premium
Updated 2026-07-06
Diet2Fit has a free tier and a Premium subscription. This article gives you the honest picture: what each tier is for, why the exact line between them may shift during early access, and — most importantly — a practical way to decide whether upgrading makes sense for you.
What the free tier is for
The free tier covers the core of the app — the everyday tracking and plan basics that build the habit:
- Viewing and following your personalized weekly meal plan
- Logging your meals from the Indian-first food database
- Day-to-day tracking essentials like water, weight, and workouts
If your main goal right now is "eat roughly to plan and keep a record of it", the free tier genuinely supports that. It's not a crippled demo; it's the foundation of the app.
What Premium adds
Premium is the full Diet2Fit experience. Directionally, it unlocks:
- Advanced reports — deeper weekly insight into how you're actually eating and progressing, beyond the basics
- AI features — the smarter, more effortful parts of the app that do work on your behalf
Think of it this way: free helps you record your journey; Premium helps you understand and steer it.
An honest note about early access
Diet2Fit is in early access, and the exact split between free and Premium may evolve as the team learns what users value most. The subscription screen inside the app always shows the current, accurate list of what Premium includes — treat that screen as the source of truth over any article, including this one.
We'd rather tell you that plainly than publish a feature table that goes stale.
How to decide: the behaviour test
Here's the tip we genuinely stand behind, even though it sometimes talks people out of paying us sooner: start free, and upgrade only when a Premium tool would change your behaviour — not before.
Ask yourself two questions:
- "Is there something I keep bumping into?" If you've been using the app for a couple of weeks and repeatedly think "I wish I could see why my week went sideways" or "I wish the app would just fix this for me" — that friction is the signal. Premium removes friction you've actually felt, which means you'll actually use it.
- "Would I act on it?" An advanced report is only worth paying for if you'd change next week's eating because of it. If you're still building the basic logging habit, more insight won't help yet — consistency will. Get two or three honest weeks of logging done first; the upgrade will be far more valuable on top of real data.
Upgrading as a motivation purchase ("paying will force me to be serious") rarely works in any fitness product. Upgrading because you've hit the ceiling of the free tier almost always does.
Upgrading when you're ready
When the answer to both questions is yes, upgrading takes a minute: open your profile, go to the subscription section, and pay via UPI, card, or netbanking through Razorpay. Premium unlocks immediately.
And if you later let it lapse? You keep your account and all your logs — Premium features simply lock until you return. There's no penalty for trying it, stepping back, and coming back when the timing is right.
